Cyrano selected Best Armagnac at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Cyrano selected "Best Armagnac" at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Los Angeles, California, April 17th, 2018 – Cyrano Armagnac XO won its first Double Gold Medal in the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), including Best on Class honors as the Best Armagnac in this year’s event!

An SFWSC medal has become a recognized affirmation of high quality and one of the most reliable and universal indications of spirits excellence. The Double Gold designation is awarded to the very few Spirits that receive Gold medal ratings by all members of the judging panel. These are among the finest products in the world.

It is not the first time that Cyrano has been recognized across the board for its exceptional quality. In the 2017 SFWSC has won 2 Gold Medals for its 25 and 50 Years Old blends.

Cyrano XO, Armagnac, DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL

Nothing in Gascony is subtle. Not the three Musketeers, duck, rugby, and especially not the XO Armagnac. This eXtra Old blend is perfect for mixing and it will delight those that are looking for a rich and smooth spirit.

Cyrano creates XO in small batches, patiently aged in the deepest charred barrels and bottled at 84 proof to maintain its approach to big flavor. It's a rather woody blend, with spicy aromas, complex but remains round. This rich Armagnac brings oak and leather together with slightly sweet notes of flower and fruit.

Tasting Notes

Color is dark golden yellow, with warm, hints of fire.

The scents of caramel and maple syrup, followed by spices such as nutmeg, vanilla and white pepper, greet you in a way the sun's early rays lay on the vineyards in Gascony.

The palate is soft and consistent with the nose, offering butter scotch, tobacco, leather and roasted nuts as well. Dark cherry and prunes are little by little pushing to the front, refreshed by a dry apricot and orange zest presence.

The finish is clean and long with a very pleasant consistency.
